THE WALSH TRANSPORTATION GROUP ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF A NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN MONSON, MASSACHUSETTS. On January 31, 2012 The Walsh Transportation Group announced an agreement to begin operating a new 100,000 square foot 5.5 acre rail sided facility in Monson, Massachusetts as of March 1, 2012. The facility is fully capable of receiving 50’ and 60’ boxcar arrivals for commodities of paper, forest products, base metals, beverages, and many other products and commodities, with an additional rail spur to receive and unload gondola and flat cars for the transportation movement of lumber and specialized products that need these types of services. The Monson Operation will now allow WTG to extend our portfolio of services into an area we have long been looking for. With this new operation we can now begin to connect a transload operation from boxcar and flatcar of shipper goods to our network of services using our Intermodal and OTR Truckload operation throughout the U.S. Canada and Mexico.
